Madisonville is the county seat of Madison County, and is located in the eastern part of Central Texas. The city of Madisonville is located 1 1/2 hours from Houston and 2 1/2 hours from Dallas, at the intersection of Interstate 45 and State Highway 21. Madison County is generally rolling terrain, with an abundance of mixed Hardwood timber. There are numerous creeks and springs which flow into the Trinity River on the eastern boundary of the County.
